Keeping with tradition, Marty Shindler once again moderated the 3D panel at Digital Hollywood, Spring 2010. With the sharp increase in 3D, this panel had a different focus from prior panels. This panel, entitled Beyond Avatar: The Explosion of 3D – 3D Platform for Feature Films and Television included one of hte best line ups yet of panelists, including John Rubey, President, AEG LIVE, Greg Foster, Chairman and President of Filmed Entertainment of IMAX Corporation, Buzz Hays, Senior Vice President, Sony 3D Technology Center, Sony Corporation of America, Angela Wilson Gyetvan, VP, Marketing and Sales, 3ality Digital, Chuck Comisky, 3-D Stereo VFX Supervisor, Avatar, Keith Melton, Director, Mummies 3-D: Secrets of the Pharaohs, Jonathan Dern, President, Cinedigm Entertainment Group, and Jim Hannafin, SVP – Business Development – North America, Reliance MediaWorks USA, A Reliance MediaWorks LTD Company
Digital Hollywood Fall 2009 found Marty Shindler moderating the 3D panel entitled The Arrival of 3D – Digital 3D Platform for Feature Films and Television on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Panelists were from Lipton 3D, Wedbush Morgan Securities, Imax, 3Ality, Kerner New York and NVidia.
The Korea – US Vision Council held an event on Wednesday evening, October 21, 2009 at Digital Hollywood. As a co-founder of the Korea-US Vision Council, Marty Shindler made introductory remarks at the event entitled:

Digital Hollywood Once again, Marty Shindler moderated the Digital Hollywood Spring 2009 panel on 3D, entitled, The Arrival of 3D – Digital 3D Platform for Feature Films and Television. Panelists were from 3Ality, Cinedigm, Imax, Kerner New York, Lipton 3D, Mitsubishi and Wedbush Securities. This panel was held May 5, 2009.

Digital Hollywood was also the site of a second panel discussion moderated by Marty Shindler. The purpose of the Korea strategic sessions was to foster mutually beneficial business relationship among U.S. Korean, Korean American companies.
Jean Chung, president of Better Communications & Consulting, the organizer of Korea sessions produced a complete program handout with bios and photos.

The 3D Entertainment Summit was certain to be a premier event on December 1-2, 2008 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and it was in every respect, meeting all expectations. Marty Shindler’s Digital Hollywood appearance also included Looking to the Future: US-Korea Collaboration on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.
This panel, comprised of animation and visual effects professionals from both the US and Korea, discussed recent collaborations in creating compelling entertainment content using Korean facilities on US product. The panelists discussed the pros and cons of working in Korea and provided their thoughts on the future of collaboration efforts between the two countries, creating win-win strategies between the US and Korea.
Panelists included a leading visual effects supervisor and executives from Enemes, Semologic, Motif RMC and Desert Panther Productions.
On Saturday, October 25, 2008, Marty Shindler appeared at the Fresno Filmmakers Forum Conference. His presentation was entitled They Don’t Call it Show Business for Nothing. According to the press release (PDF version) wrap up, it was well received.
TV programs, Films, Animation and New Media are the topics at the annual Broadcast Worldwide Conference & Exhibition 2008 (BCWW) in Seoul, Korea. Marty Shindler presented Entertainment Business From the Hollywood Perspective on Thursday, September 4, 2008.
UCLA Extension invited Marty Shindler to speak to a group of visiting Korean business people under the auspices of KOCCA. Mr. Shindler spoke on Practices and Trends in Hollywood on August 18, 2008.
On August 2, 2008, Marty Shindler moderated two panels at the annual Directors Guild (DGA) Digital Day. One was 3D UPDATE: The 3D Pipeline and Workflow and the other was 3D AND THE TV VIEWING EXPERIENCE: Moving 3D into the Media Mainstream. On April 15, 2008, Marty Shindler moderated a panel discussion at the The Creative Storage Conference, held in conjunction the annual NAB Conference in Las Vegas. The panel was entitled Entertainment and Media Users Session. This session includes notable end users of digital storage from the entertainment and media industry discussing their uses and issues with digital storage in this industry. Panelists included executives from Thomson, Microsoft, Turner/CNN, ABC and Stargate Films, with others expected to also participate. Further updates will be posted here when available.
Digital Hollywood – 3D is a hot topic and it is an evolving business from many points of view, from image acquisition to post production and visual effects to digital exhibition and very soon to the home. On May 6, 2008, once again, Marty Shindler and a panel of industry experts will discuss the current and the future world of 3D under the banner of The Arrival of 3D – Digital 3D Platform for Feature Films and Television. Panelists will be representing 3Ality Digital, The Bigger Picture, Dynamic Digital Depth (DDD), Kodak, Real D and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
The second annual Asia Pacific Entertainment & Media Summit (APEM) was held October 17 – 18, 2007 at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. Marty Shindler moderated a panel on IPTV. IPTV represents a growing content delivery system. Panelists included executives from Microsoft, NBC Universal and KT Corporation.
Digital Hollywood continues to be one of the most innovative and forward thinking conferences. Marty Shindler will moderate a panel discussion on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. at the Fall conference October 29 – November 1, 2007. The Fall conference is moving to a new, larger venue, The Grand Ballroom at Hollywood and Highlands and the adjacent Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. Due to its success at the Spring conference, we have been asked to repeat the panel entitled The Arrival of 3D – Digital 3D Platform for Feature Films and Television with a great group on the panel.
On July 28, 2007, Marty Shindler moderated a panel discussion entitled 3D: The Next Generation of Digital Production at the annual Directors’ Guild (DGA) annual Digital Day. The session included compelling content as well as a discussion on how this exciting trend will impact the next generation of digital production and exhibition. Marty Shindler moderated a panel discussion entitled “End Users Views on Digital Storage in Content Creation and Distribution: Challenges and Solutions” as a part of the 2007 Creative Storage Conference held in conjunction with the Media-Tech Expo Expo 2007 at the Long Beach Convention Center on May 15, 2007. Panelists were from Electronic Arts, PlasterCITY Digital Post, Stargate Films, SyncCast and Thomson.
On Sunday January 7, 2007, Marty Shindler attended the Storage Visions 2007 Conference at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marty moderated a panel discussion entitled Digital Content in the Age of Global Archives. The theme of the conference was Digital Storage Democratizes Content. In September 2006, Marty and Roberta Shindler attended the The 2nd China (Nanjing) International Software Product Expo. Marty addressed the conference on the topic of Global Trends in Computer Animation and Software Tools and the Shindlers attended the opening ceremonies. He also attended a group meeting of the Nanjing animation industry where he presented an expanded version of the address to the specialized and attentive audience. In addition to visiting several animation facilities in Nanjing, the Shindlers also visited animation and post houses in Shanghai.
On June 13, 2006, Marty Shindler moderated a panel entitled IMAX VFX: Design and Execution for the LA Professional Chapter of ACM Siggraph. See the postcard announcement in PDF.
Covering Your (Digital) Assets is the title of a panel discussion that Marty Shindler moderated at iHollywood Forum’s Digital Media Summit on June 6, 2006. Scroll down to see the impressive line up of panelists. It was a lively discussion on what is a very hot topic.
Marty Shindler led a seminar for local entertainment industry personnel and students for DIP, the Daegu Digital Industry Promotion Agency in Daegu, Korea in April 2006. The topic was Entertainment Business From a Global Perspective.
In November 2005, Marty Shindler was invited by the KIPA – Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency (part of the Ministry of Information and Communications) to speak at its Digital Content @ Convergence Conference in Seoul Korea. His topic was Global Trends in Digital Content Production and Distribution.
