September 2005Digital Cinema and 3DWhen I wrote Digital Cinema – Reality '05?? earlier this year for the Digital Cinema Society's newsletter , I indicated that 3D stereo would be one of the market drivers.
While a large scale roll out of digital cinema has yet to be announced, 3D is beginning to have an impact Disney and Dolby joining forces to install another 100 digital cinema theaters in North America with Real D technology by November 4 for the 3D exhibition of Chicken Little . This effectively doubles the number of digital screens in North America .
