iHollywood and Siggraph
June 2006
iHollywood and Siggraph
The last few months have seen a flurry of announcements from many of the studios, networks and a variety of other content owners about making product available online.
The essence of these announcements is that 2006 has become the year of content, anywhere, anytime and on a device of choice.
These announcements have indicated several different business models, including free, free with embedded commercials, pay per view, subscription services, download to own, download to burn and others.
To explore the implications of this major ramp up in content availability, I will be moderating a panel discussion entitled Covering Your (Digital) Assets at the Digital Media Summit of iHollywood Forum on June 6, 2006 to be held at the Universal Hilton. Los Angeles .
Panelists include:
- Ian Blaine, thePlatform, Chief Executive Officer
- Stephen Condon, Entriq, VP of Marketing
- Douglas Lee, Metro-Goldwin Mayer, Executive Vice President
- Chris Petrovic, Playboy Entertainment Group, Vice President, Business Development, Digital Media
- Troy Snyder, Nine Systems, President and Chief Executive Officer
- Lance Ware, SyncCast, Chief Executive Officer
- Moderator: Marty Shindler , The Shindler Perspective, Inc.

One week later, on June 13, 2006 , I will be moderating a panel discussion entitled IMAX VFX: Design and Execution as a part of the monthly meeting for the Los Angeles Professional Chapter of ACM Siggraph.
